Description

Ganpat University organized an event on “Polyherbal Power Packet: Exploring the development and Nutritional, organoleptic and Biochemica"on 13 October to 14 October 2023 from 10.00-12.00 PM. The Students of Ganpat University took part in the event and gathered at CHAS, Ganpat University. The event was organized by the Food and Nutrition Department with coordination of students of food and nutrition. Rita patel welcomed all students and gave a brief detail on the event. Our experts delivered knowledge regarding Polyherbal power packets are natural formulations made from a blend of multiple herbs, traditionally used for their therapeutic and nutritional benefits.

These packets are gaining popularity as functional food supplements due to their potential to support health in a holistic manner. This study focuses on the development, nutritional, organoleptic, and biochemical properties of polyherbal power packets. Development: The development of polyherbal power packets involves careful selection and blending of herbs known for their complementary properties. Factors such as the processing methods, formulation techniques, and quality control are crucial to ensure the stability, efficacy, and safety of the final product. The aim is to create a product that retains the maximum nutritional and therapeutic value of the herbs. Nutritional

Composition: Polyherbal packets are rich in bioactive compounds, essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Nutritional analysis helps to determine the content of macronutrients (proteins, fats, carbohydrates) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), contributing to the overall health benefits of the product. A detailed nutritional profile is essential for consumers seeking a balanced supplement.

Organoleptic Evaluation: The organoleptic properties (taste, smell, texture and appearance) of polyherbal power packets significantly influence consumer acceptance. Sensory evaluation tests are conducted to assess whether the product is palatable, attractive, and pleasant to consume. This helps in improving the product’s acceptability, especially in markets where taste is a major deciding factor for supplementation.

Biochemical Analysis: The biochemical evaluation focuses on the identification and quantification of bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, and terpenoids present in the herbs. These compounds are known for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and other health-promoting properties. The biochemical analysis also includes the evaluation of the packet's potential therapeutic effects and its contribution to preventing or managing diseases.

In conclusion, the development and analysis of polyherbal power packets involve a multifaceted approach, combining traditional herbal knowledge with modern scientific techniques to create a product that is not only nutritious but also scientifically validated for its health benefits.
The coordinators overseeing the initiative commended the students for their dedicated efforts, expressing their heartfelt gratitude. We were thankful that students enjoyed the event with healthy participation. This event will be helpful for students in the future.
